COVID-19: Cases top 1 million globally as death toll surges past 50,000

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), since 31 December 2019 and as of 3 April 2020, 1 000 249 cases of COVID-19 have been reported, including 51 515 deaths.
