A large measles outbreak in ongoing in Venezuela, with over 6000 confirmed cases reported since June 2017. Cases have been reported in all states and the Capital District.

There is also currently an outbreak of measles in Brazil, with  more than 9800 confirmed cases in 2018. The majority of cases have been reported in the states of Roraima and Amazonas.

In 2018, cases of measles have also been reported in Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru.

Public Health Agency of Canada advises travellers to consult a health care professional or visit a travel health clinic six weeks before they travel.
